Meet Peta Davidson Iwanoczko

Peta Davidson Iwanoczko, the visionary behind Northern Ballet Studios, brings a wealth of experience and passion to the world of dance. With over 40 years of professional ballet and teaching experience, Peta has dedicated her life to nurturing talent and fostering a love for ballet in her students.

Peta’s journey in ballet began in country Victoria leading to graduating from the Australian Ballet School in Melbourne. After completing her training, Peta performed with the internationally renowned The Australian Ballet, performing in two world tours, including St Petersburg in Russia, and at Covent Garden for Queen Elizabeth II. Her experiences provided invaluable experience and insight into the art of dance, that she passes on to the next generation of dancers.

Driven by a desire to share her knowledge and love for ballet, Peta established Northern Ballet Studios. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student has the potential to shine. She is committed to providing high-quality instruction, personalised attention, and a supportive environment for all her students.

What to expect at NBS

We believe that stamina is built while keeping healthy and fit, and most importantly, students learn to express dance with feeling and heart through the inspiration of movement.

Students follow the Australian Dance Vision syllabus suited to their age group, which encompasses practical ballet technique as well as understanding anatomy, safe dance and dance history. Annual assessments are optional.

Opportunities may be offered to selected students to compete in dance eisteddfods.

Northern Ballet Studios performs a full new story-based production annually in a local theatre. Students gain skills in all aspects of production including costume, lighting, music, choreography, mime and performance. Care is taken to showcase the skills of each student, as well as offer the experience of performing as a pre-professional company.

Northern Ballet Studios performs at local community events.
